The Good Space Collective
Making a difference in our neighbourhood's well-being
At The Good Space Collective, we believe that everyone deserves the knowledge and support to live healthier lives—regardless of income or background. We provide accessible health education, group coaching, and complementary therapies to individuals and families who need it most. Because good health is a right, not a privilege.
Our Inspiration
The Good Space Collective was founded by Lorraine, whose personal journey to recovery after contracting COVID-19 in 2020 exposed the stark inequalities in access to health support. Lorraine’s recovery required thousands of pounds spent on alternative therapies and private practitioners—resources that are out of reach for many. Her experience highlighted that while chronic illness can affect anyone, access to recovery often depends on financial privilege. This realisation led to the creation of The Good Space Collective, with a mission to ensure that wellness is accessible to everyone, regardless of income.
Why Our Work Matters
-
Health Inequalities in the UK: People living in the most deprived areas of England have a healthy life expectancy up to 19 years lower than those in the least deprived areas (NHS Health Profile for England, 2023).
-
Chronic Conditions and Deprivation: Rates of diabetes and high blood pressure are significantly higher among those from lower-income households, contributing to increased risk of heart disease and stroke (NHS Digital, 2024).
-
Barriers to Reliable Information: Many individuals from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds lack access to trustworthy health education, making them more vulnerable to misinformation and less likely to advocate for themselves in healthcare settings (Public Health England, 2022).
-
Empowering Through Education: Health education and group support are proven to improve self-management and outcomes for chronic conditions, including diabetes and high blood pressure (NHS England, 2023).
What We Do
The Good Space Collective delivers:
-
Wellness Workshops & Health Education: Accessible sessions focused on nutrition, lifestyle, and self-advocacy, designed to make complex health information practical and actionable for individuals and families.
-
Group Coaching for Metabolic Conditions: Specialised group coaching programmes support those living with diabetes, high blood pressure, and other metabolic conditions. These sessions provide education, peer support, and practical strategies for managing health more effectively.
-
Menopause Wellness Support: We offer dedicated workshops and group coaching to help women navigate menopause, providing evidence-based advice and community support to improve wellbeing during this important life stage.
-
Support for Energy-Related Conditions: Our programmes include targeted support for those with energy-related conditions such as Long COVID, ME, and CFS, focusing on holistic approaches to improve energy, resilience, and quality of life.
-
Access to Proven Therapies: We aim to make complementary therapies—such as Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, Red Light Therapy, IV therapy, massage, physiotherapy, and osteopathy—available to those who need them most. These treatments are supported by NICE guidelines for certain chronic conditions (NICE, 2023).
-
Community Empowerment: We help participants build the confidence to communicate with healthcare professionals, ensuring they receive the support, diagnosis, and treatment they deserve.
Our Impact
By bridging the gap in health education, group coaching, and access to therapies, The Good Space Collective is making a tangible difference in our neighbourhoods—addressing health inequalities and improving quality of life for underserved communities. Our vision is a society where everyone, right here in our local communities, has the knowledge, support, and sense of belonging needed to achieve better health.
